Sunday was a beautiful day in Canaan Valley. We took the kids on a small hike along the blackwater river trail in Canaan Valley State Park. They had a fun time shoving chasing each other.



*I have no idea what is wrong with the color. They look fine in PS but look very dull here. :(

Dreaming of warmer weather

The weather has been less than pleasant lately. I have been dreaming of temperatures in the 60s and sunny skies since January. This weekend my dream is becoming reality! I would love to go out and take some amazing Spring photos this weekend but alas the full effects of Spring have not made their way into the valley. The daffodils just bloomed within the last two weeks. Soon the tulips will awake from their long slumber followed by the glorious flowering dogwoods and fruit trees. In the mean time I will be exploring the local yard sales and estate sales in hopes of finding treasure. :)

The death of a peep

Look at these poor defenseless little souls looking at me with sadness in their eyes. I can almost hear them begging, "Please, please have mercy on us."


They are completely unaware that in a matter of seconds their world will be changed forever.

More Bearden Knob

Bearden Knob

Yesterday we spent the gorgeous afternoon hiking to a spot. It has breathtaking 360 degree views of the area. You can see the town of Davis, WV and the amazing landscape of Canaan Valley.

My oldest thought he was king of the mountain. lol

There is still snow at Timberline. yuck! haha
I need to go early in the morning to get a nice shot of the town of Davis. I won't forget my tripod this time either. lol

Almost Spring

Although the calendar officially announced March 20th as the first day of Spring, we are just now seeing the first of the Spring flowers. The daffodils are just now blooming here. I visited my Dad and Step-Mother this weekend in Belpre, Ohio and saw many signs of Spring. It was very refreshing.


I'm heading out to enjoy the beautiful day. Hopefully I will return with a card full of beautiful Spring images.
