Icy Morning

My handsome husband called me this morning on his way to work to inform me of the gorgeous ice covered trees between here and Davis. As much as I hate to drag the kids with me on a photography excursion, I couldn't resist. I really can't wait until they are both in school. Then I can actually take my time and set up the shot without worrying about them inside the running car. lol After we dropped my oldest off at the bus stop, we headed over the mountain to Canaan and encountered a winter wonderland! It was absolutely breathtaking! There were many things I wanted to photograph but unfortunately, with my kids sitting in the car, I couldn't venture too far. Oh well, I was able to get a couple of nice shots anyway!

Another snow day

This has been a bad winter so far. It started in November and let up some in December but January has been horrendous! I think the ground has been blanketed with snow the entire month! It is good for the ski resorts, not so good for the schools. We have had more snow days than I can count. As a child I loved snow days and could not understand why my Mom hated them. Well now I know! It is soooo hard for me to come up with something to do to keep the kids from killing each other! I have ideas for crafts and projects. The problem is the kids complete them in 10 seconds flat! (Maybe not 10 seconds but at least 10 minutes.) I would send them out to play in the snow but that turns into a fiasco as well. I usually have to go out and dig a screaming silly boy out of a snow pile that his big brother buried him in. Oh the joys of a snow day. Wish me luck! And if you have any ideas for some child diversion tactics please leave me a comment. I'm desperate. There is no way I could homeschool! lol

Week 3 -- Joy

It is the third week of the I Heart Faces meme! Although I haven't won, it is still great fun! I've seen my blog traffic increase because of it too! I now have more than 3 people visiting my blog a week. lol This is my sweet girl laughing at her silly brother. He LOVES to make her laugh. I believe there is no sweeter sound than a baby belly laugh. *sigh* I find so much joy in being a Mom.

Winter, winter, go away!

I have major cabin fever! Actually, we all have cabin fever. My sweet baby girl is cutting her canines and my silly boy wants me to play trains with him ALL DAY LONG (which equates to absolutely no housework getting done). Thank goodness for the weekends. We are able to get out and go to church and basketball games (my oldest plays). I leave you with a photo taken from my back porch (that is all the farther my kiddos would let me get out of their sight).

So sweet

I photographed a friend's beautiful daughters yesterday. The oldest is 5 weeks older than my sweet baby girl. It is amazing to me how well the 18 month old is around her baby sister. You can feel the love she has for her sister. I have a feeling these beauties will become best friends.

Icy river

I had a photo session for a friend today. On my way there, I noticed how beautiful the icy river looked. I couldn't pass up an opportunity to photograph it. :)

Digital scrapbooking

As many of you know, I am a photographer. In years past I have neglected my family. I have only taken their photos when it was a holiday or their birthday. I feel really guilty that I don't have very many snapshots of them. The snapshots I do have are wasting space on my hard drive. I made a vow to free my hard drive. However, I had a dilemma. What do I do with all of the photos? If I back them up to CDs, I will most likely never look at them again. I have way too many to print. It would cost $4324569165 to have them printed and then I would have to take the time to put them in photo albums. YUCK! I recently discovered a problem for this dilemma.....digital scrapbooking!! There are many sites out there that sell digital scrapbooking elements. Fortunately for me, I enjoy designing graphics in Photoshop. For the things I don't have the ability to design I turn to a trusty newfound board -- Go Digital Scrapbooking I visit the forum frequently to get ideas. Some of the designers also offer freebies!!

I need to remind you that I am a newbie. So these pages aren't as good as many you will see on the afore mentioned site. ;)

Baby it's cold outside

Brrrrr. When I woke up this morning it was a frigid 6 degrees. I know, I know, it could be worse.
Luckily today the winds are calm but yesterday that wasn't the case. Just look at my van. At least I now know it is fairly aerodynamic!

After everyone left, my husband thought it would be okay for the kids to have some cake. Seriously?? I made him clean them up!

Time to PARTY!!

Silly boy's birthday party was yesterday. It was just family since he isn't in school yet.

I let the kids decorate their own cakes. The kids love it!

I couldn't find my cake decorating tips so I put the icing in a bottle. It was way too thick! lol

He didn't have the patience to wait for everyone to sing happy birthday! I wasn't fast enough with the camera. He blew one out before I could snap the pic! lol

A boy and his Momma

I'm not sure why but lately my silly middle child has been calling me Momma. *sigh* I love him.

4 years ago

Yesterday was my middle child's 4th birthday. Oh where has the time gone? He had a wonderful day. He wanted pancakes for breakfast.


He had to wait until Daddy got home to get his present. I believe it was well worth the wait. lol
